Fabiola Cobarrubias, MD, MBA is the President and Medical Director of Pacific Inpatient Medical Group. Dr. Cobarrubias began working as one of the founding hospitalists at CPMC in 1996. She took over as Medical Director for IMMG in 2004 and led the transition to the formation of PIMG, the largest physician owned hospitalist group in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Cobarrubias graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Brown University, and Alpha Omega Alpha with a medical degree from University of California, San Francisco. She completed her internship at Stanford University and her Internal Medicine residency at UCSF. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. While working as a hospitalist, she received her MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.

Her career interests focus on physician leadership and management, quality improvement of medical delivery across health care systems, and the development and implementation of electronic solutions for improved health care delivery.

Vernon Giang, MD is the Associate Medical Director, Vice President and Secretary of the Board for PIMG. He led the transition of IMMG to PIMG. Prior to that, he was one of the pioneer physicians of the Inpatient Management Medical Group in 1997. He was named Associate Medical Director of the group in June 2007. Additionally, he held the California Campus Medical Director position for 11 years. Dr. Giang has been a hospitalist since 1996.

In addition to his hospitalist responsibilities with PIMG, Dr. Giang is the Vice Chair of Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). He also holds an officer position for the CPMC medical staff’s executive committee. Previously, Dr. Giang was the Associate Chair of Medicine for 10 years.

Dr. Giang received a B.S. in Chemistry from Pacific Union College and a medical degree at University of California, Davis. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at California Pacific Medical Center.
